Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week feels especially meaningful this year especially in this challenging climate.

Today and tomorrow, I'm completing my Mental Health First Aider training with MHFA England® — something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Learning how to better support those around me with empathy, confidence, and care is such an important step, both personally and professionally. Mental health is something we all have, and being able to hold space for others — whether friends, colleagues, or strangers — feels more essential than ever.

To be doing this during Mental Health Awareness Week has added a real sense of purpose and reflection. It's a powerful reminder that, while we can’t always fix things, we can listen. We can notice. We can show up.

As someone that works in community settings I interact with such a diverse range of people, and to be better able to support them if they are in need feels important.

I would really recommend this training so that we can all better support each other when inevitably we face mental health struggles at one time or another.

Here's to creating kinder, more compassionate workplaces and communities, one conversation at a time.
