The value of bullet journals and how to use one

Why bullet journals are so valuable

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by endless to-do lists and digital distractions. A bullet journal offers something refreshingly different, a space to slow down, focus, and reconnect with your intentions. It’s been my way of staying organised for the last seven years! And it has served me so well, maybe it will you too.

Unlike ordinary planners, a bullet journal combines organisation, reflection, and creativity. It’s a flexible tool that can help you track habits and goals, plan projects or events, reflect on your wellbeing and a way to explore ideas through sketching, writing, or collage. Journaling regularly encourages mindfulness giving you time to notice what matters most, celebrate progress, and bring purpose to your everyday life.

How to use a bullet journal effectively:

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced journaler, the beauty of bullet journaling lies in its flexibility. There’s no right or wrong way to use it just what works best for you. Traditionally it is a notebook with grid-dot pages that you then adapt and draw your lists, monthly spread and weekly views onto, so it is 100% customisable. However this is quite time-consuming! And so…

Introducing the 2026 bullet journal!

This year’s I have created Community In Print very first Bullet Journal designed to support mindful planning and creativity, with sustainability at its core, based on my experiences as an avid bullet journal user for the last seven years. Trust me when I have tried almost every spread layout imaginable, and have found the perfect one for me! (And for you too I hope!). This has all the flexibility of a traditional bullet journal but with a gentle framework that gives you something to start with, and saves you hours, and hours of time drawing out weekly and months spreads. While it always looks amazing, it really does take hours! But don’t worry my bullet journal has the monthly and weekly spreads already laid out for you, so you can focus on what goals and to-do lists you want to tackle in 2026!

What makes this journal special

  • Sustainably printed – Produced using eco-friendly materials and printing processes that care for the planet.

  • Lunar tracking – Track the full and new moons to align with natural cycles and reflect on your personal rhythms.

  • Healthy habit prompts – Simple, mindful prompts to nurture wellbeing throughout the year.

  • Fully customisable – The dotted pages offer flexibility for sketching, listing, collaging, or free-form creativity.

  • Goal setting and reflection pages – Dedicated sections to help you set intentions and look back on your growth.

  • Cute illustrated details – A joyful “Getting Your Ducks In A Row” theme, with full colour hand-drawn illustrations inspired by Poole Farm.

  • Premium paper quality – Smooth, thick paper that works beautifully with pens, inks, and even watercolours.

This bullet journal is not just a planner, it’s a creative companion for anyone looking to live more intentionally in 2026. I so hope you will love it as it has been a real labour of love over the past few months.

Here are a few ways to make your bullet journal part of your mindful routine:

  1. Stay organised during the festive season (or any month)
Use your journal to create gift trackers, budget pages, and Christmas card lists to keep things calm and organised.

  2. Set monthly goals
Use the monthly spread to set monthly goals and begin reflecting on what you want to achieve in 2026. Writing your intentions helps turn dreams into action.

  3. Create a gratitude log
List one or two things you’re grateful for each day. This simple ritual helps you stay grounded, positive, and aware of the good moments that shape your year. And there is a little space next to everyday to do just that.

Remember your journal doesn’t have to look perfect. Scribbles, sketches, and spontaneous ideas are all part of the process. It’s about reflection, not perfection. And this design has all the room for that.
