Community in print turns two!
It’s hard to believe, but today Community in Print turns two! Two years ago, I launched this little business with hopes to making a positive impact on the local community here in the South West by offering free sustainable creative workshops, while also creating beautiful, sustainable art that can bring joy to people’s homes.
So far it’s been such a lovely surprise to meet so many others who have wanted to get involved and be a part. These last two years have been filled with creativity, learning, and connection, and I’ve loved it. From the very first workshops, to selling my first art print, I’ve been amazed by the support and love you’ve shown, that means I get to carry on doing something I love, and helping make the world a more creative and sustainable place. Two years feels like a big milestone, here is what we’ve achieved together!
Celebrating two years of creativity and connection
When I started Community in Print in January 2022, I had two main goals:
To provide to the local community by offering free or subsidised creative workshops that help people find joy and mental wellbeing when trying to think about the climate.
To craft sustainable, ethical art that connects people to the natural world and the joy of creativity.
Thanks to your support, we’ve done just that. Over the past two years:
We’ve brought sustainable art into hundreds of homes across the UK, with prints, cards, and handmade items crafted with care and eco-friendly materials.
We’ve hosted 27 workshops, helping people of all ages and backgrounds explore their creativity and learn about sustainable practices.
We’ve collaborated with over 20 local makers and organizations, building a network of like-minded individuals who share a passion for craft and community.
Every single purchase you’ve made—whether it was a print for your wall or a gift for a loved one—has contributed directly to this mission. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t thank you enough for being part of this journey.
What’s next for Community in print?
As we step into our third year, I’m feeling more inspired than ever to keep growing and evolving Community in Print. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in 2024:
New collections: I’m working on fresh designs that celebrate the beauty of the South West, sustainability, and the power of creativity. Keep an eye out for new prints, cards, and more!
More workshops: One of my favorite parts of this business is running creative workshops. In 2024, I’ll be offering more opportunities to connect, create, and learn—both in person and online.
Focusing on local impact: While I’ve loved sharing my work with people across the UK, I’m doubling down on supporting the South West. This means collaborating with local makers, hosting community events, and continuing to champion sustainable practices.
Celebrating you: I wouldn’t be here without you, so I want to find more ways to give back to this amazing community. From special discounts to giveaways, stay tuned for ways we’ll be celebrating together in 2024!
